GROWING DOWN


When I grow down, I want to lie on the grass

And watch the billowing clouds drift overhead,

Showing me once again that life is more about

Admiring a parade of ever changing faces

Than anticipating the next burst of angry weather.


When I grow down, I want to greet every living being

With an open heart, fully expecting them

To peek around their disguise and wink at me,

In celebration of being on the road together.
