Our 3 innate insecurities are that we are not safe, we do not matter, and we do not belong. Fear drives us to address these essential needs in some way and to be on the lookout for any threats to their not being met. Perceptions that our security needs are being met bring satisfaction and pride, while indications they are not being met bring distress and shame. To ensure survival of our species, our brains evolved a heightened sensitivity to insecurity fears, a strong propensity (bias) to be vigilant, suspicious, doubting, or unsatisfied. We can counterbalance this leaning by noticing and appreciating evidence we are safe, significant, and connected in the present moment. Practicing gratitude works.

Notice what is experienced by opening to the infinite blessedness and unity of being alive, embodied, and aware.
The human mind is designed to look for problems to solve, so it leans toward dissatisfaction with whatever is encountered, including oneself and others. When we stop taking the human negativity bias seriously we can entertain the possibility that nothing is missing or wrong.
The essence of life is Love. The human experience begins with emotional and physical interaction with whatever is encountered that can provide support and sustenance. We all grow and unfold as unique expressions of Love in relationship with Love expressed by other life forms.
Self awareness and personal transformation are facilitated by creating a safe, warm, accepting environment where each person is invited to relax, experience what is going on inside, and express whatever thoughts, feelings, and responses arise in regard to something they wish to explore. Try it out! It's quite natural.
